|I decided to take a look back at some of the things we did this fall/winter/spring in the Mesa area. Most of the pictures have been taken at the Valle Del Oro RV Park and Resort where we spend the season avoiding cold weather. Mesa has at least 20 RV resorts with most geared towards the 55+ age group with tons of activities to occupy the time of most of the visitors. Our park has stained glass, pottery, leather work, ceramics, quilting, woodcarving, silversmithing and lapidary classes. In addition, there is a group that meets 5 days a week to play golf at 5 or 6 courses in the area, a hiking club with several groups trekking around based on ability, tennis club, pickle ball, bocce ball, horseshoes, ladder golf, water volleyball, billiards (20 tables), and a model airplane flying club. Other activities include line dancing, square dancing, and Saturday night dances. The park has a well-equipped wood shop with saws, lathes, drills and lots of tools to borrow. The park provides live entertainment at least 3 days a week with "Music on the Patio" adjacent the swimming pools area. We also have parties such as the Welcome Back, Halloween, New Year's, Mardi Gras, St. Patricks day and themed parties like "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere", Luau/Poolside Party, and Tiki Bar Special party. Put it this way: If you are bored here, the is something wrong with you! You need to go back where you came from and stay in your house. We have made a lot of friends this year. Most of the folks in the park are as friendly as Texans, always saying "hi" and wanting to know you better. We will be in Mesa until April 7th. Then we move on to Tucson for a week or so. After that, we will be on our way to Amarillo for a brief visit.
