Rick and Lisa Living our Dream travel blog

Sunday was a beautiful day, and so is today! The weather has been in the low 80's the whole time we have been here. The thing is the wind has been relentless! It is very nice around here, very quiet at night.

We went to 8:00am Sunday Mass at Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church in Port Lavaca. It was very nice and the young Pastor gave an awesome homily. We then went to breakfast at the "Skillet", and we had a good American breakfast. Then we stopped at HEB and picked up a couple things. Later, we went for a long walk on the beach, one direction was a piece of cake, but coming back was a tough walk into the wind. There was a lot of kids and families on the beach yesterday, along with over 20 RV's parked staying there for free.

I found out today that many of the RV's come to this park and pay just $12.50 a night (the Passport America rate)to fill with water and to dump. Next time we want to come to this area, that is what I would like to do. I've always wanted to stay right on the beach and this is a good place to do it!

My folks will get into Port Lavaca today(Monday) around 1:00 pm. We plan on having dinner with them tonight.

We will leave here tomorrow morning, destination,Kinder, LA.
