Climbing rock for the first time

going down the canyon

5600m and looking good!

way down the mountain

famous plant whose name i can't remember

So in Huaraz Action Kate decided to pull on her adventure shoes and try a few different activities. Rock climbing, ice climbing, canyoning and climbing a mountain of 5600m. Definitely the most difficult was climbing the mountain. The altitude is a bit of a killer! We hiked up about 700m the day before with heavy packs to camp. Then got up at midnight to begin climbing the mountain at about 1am. I think i enjoyed the first hour and the 10 minutes at the summit, the rest was hard work! My feet were frozen for the whole 8 hours we were climbing the summit and returning, so as a result, my toes are still a little numb 3 weeks later. I'm still hoping that one day i'll get full feeling back - but hey, who needs toes?
