After over a month of tenting and taking in all the sight seeing and hikes here in Hawaii we've decided to just relax the last three days. Jason returned the rental car on Wednesday so the last couple of days we've been planning our next leg of adventure which will be Fiji for two weeks and on to New Zealand for a month. We leave for Fiji this Sunday morning at 8:30am and arrive there Monday just a little after 12 noon - we gain 16 hours.....how weird and wonderful is that. We are going to try "couch surfing" which will be another new experience for us. We have made contact with one family there already who said we could stay with them for 2 days and help us out with planning where we should go, which Islands of Fiji to visit.

Yesterday was St.Patrick's day which also happens to be my Dad's Birthday - Happy Birthday Dad we love and miss you. You are the BEST!!!!! Talked to him yesterday on his special day. We also phoned Jason's mom, I'm sure both parents enjoyed hearing from us and knowing that we are OK. There was a parade here that went down main street of Waikiki, a lot of people wore green to celebrate in style. A block party was setup downtown with plenty of green beer to go around however we never did make it there.

Today we went to the beach and swam a bit, watched some of the surfers from our neutral floating position. I took in a good mouthful of salty ocean water not by my authorization but none the less it took place. Tried to catch some waves in on the boogie boards but we didn't catch any prime rides. Jason is such a fish when it comes to water, he would make an amazing trainer whether it be for scuba diving or swimming. He will do great once we have the opportunity to surf, I know he's going to love it. After we came out of the water we sun bathed ourselves on the beach for a bit until Jason was getting hungry, at one point I thought he was going to eat the McDonald's the lady sitting next to us was devouring and almost making love to it. Finishing up some photos and having a few Hawaiian Rum and cokes, listening to the top 40.

We hear the weather in Canada sucks right now so we are sorry for your luck and hope it gets better soon. I've actually got a pretty good "ginger tan" going with plenty of freckles to go with it. Jason is getting to be a "golden boy" and fitting right in with the locals. Good night from Hawaii. Aloha, Love Dawn & Jason
