Drove the RV to Georgetown, TX today. Another driving day that Rick loved - only 1.5 hours! Unfortunately, Austin doesn't have enough lanes on the interstate because even at 11am all 3 lanes were backed up going through that area. No accidents, no construction. We have learned they currently have a music/film festival (south by southwest) and a rodeo in town so that probably added to the congestion.
The RV park is across the road from Berry Springs Park and Preserve. After getting the RV set up and eating lunch we explored the park by bicycle. The park has a hike/bike trail that we enjoyed riding that took us by the major things to see in the park. We saw several areas where springs are bubbling out forming ponds. With old large trees, the springs, ponds and river it was a very pretty ride. The main trail was concrete with side trails of packed rock (easy ride), packed mulch (harder ride, but ok) and large unpacked rock (very difficult ride). We definitely got a workout exploring all the side trails. Eventually the trail will connect to the Georgetown Parks trail and we saw workers pouring concrete to make that connection - it will be really nice then because that would take us into town by bicycle!
