| Tina has now been cancer free for 3 years!!!!!!! Day trip to Gruene and New Braunfels, TX. Gruene (pronounced Green) has been designated a historic town by the state of Texas and has several old buildings that now house cute shops. Gruene Hall, a bar and dance hall, was built in the 1880s and is the oldest dance hall in Texas. Several famous country singers have performed in the hall over the years, but an unknown singer was there when we visited - he was good. Gruene is a pretty town overlooking the Guadalupe River lined with huge trees. We had a delicious lunch with fantastic views of the river at the Gristmill River Restaurant then browsed the shops for a while. |
