|Writing while en route:
We have weighed anchor and left our Tucson Mt. site after 3 great weeks, now heading back west to parts from whence we came. A stop in Yuma for a few days to catch up with Beth while Chris is in London helping his ailing mum, get some of the dust and sand scraped off the RV after weeks as desert dwellers, and letting our mail catch up with us is the plan.
You will notice that the little green line on our Travel Map has not wandered far this year as we go into "frugal mode". The price of fuel is rising off the charts and we have some very special travel plans come November, so a bit of downsizing in the Stilley ecosystem is in order. We can spend months (well maybe several weeks) parked out in the Anza Borrego Desert amid some of the most beautiful scenery imaginable, especially with the wildflowers and cacti beginning their blooming season soon.
The special trip is a luxury sailing cruise aboard the Star Flyer, one of the Star Clipper Cruise ships. We leave Bridgetown, Barbados on November 6th and return to Puerto Caldera, Costa Rica on November 27th, 22 days total including a Panama Canal transit. The itinerary can best be viewed in the two following websites: first 14 days, then the next 7. Multi-thousand passenger, mega-cruise ships are not our style so this small 170 passenger, 360 footer, especially one with 4 masts and 16 sails and actually sails, works for us though it seems the smaller the more expensive! And a special bonus - we have friends joining us! Paul and Dalya have already signed on and there are rumors afloat that Chris and Beth may also...Yay!!
Stay tuned for pictures and more from Yuma as we approach our day's destination!
