After not getting the greatest nights sleep we had to check out by 10am. We made our way up to the Waitangi Treaty Grounds just up the road where the Maori treaty was signed with the British Empire in the 1840, it was really interesting and a great day for it. We saw a film to tell us all about it and then walked round and saw a replica Maori Waka canoe similar to the one used by the first Maori's to arrive on New Zealand from Tahiti. The Treaty house and also the flag pole show where the treaty was actually signed. Ruth and me had a real laugh and thoroughly enjoyed our morning, Then headed south back to Auckland and the dorms at the YHA!
