Jeanne, Laurie, Chic, Marilyn, Kelly, Heidi, and I met in Everglades City to explore and visit with each other. We went to the National Park entrance there and took a boat ride out through the 10,000 lakes area of the Park. The narrator was funny but it was hard to hear or understand much of what he said. When we got out near Indian Key and the Gulf, we started seeing dolphins. Some of them came close to the boat and it was a treat to see them swimming and jumping. There were a few smaller ones, too - babies.
One of the rangers that Laurie knows recommended a restaurant off the main drag so we went there for lunch. It was on the water with outdoor seating and had the ambience of the Keys. We ordered our sandwiches and took over two tables outside. I got a burger that looked too big to fit into my mouth, but I proved I could do it! Shush, people!
We went back down to the end of the land and visited the old store there called Small's, since that's who owned it! His family lived there and received and sold supplies to the fishermen and Seminoles. It was a very interesting store up on stilts, of course. After all that exercise, we stopped at a homemade ice cream parlor and I had a key lime sundae using vanilla and coconut ice cream! It was good! This was another time that the afternoon meal kept me full the rest of the day!
