Visit with StacyFeb 18, 2011

| Wanted to stay somewhere close to Keystone Heights, but ended up driving south on 301 to Waldo, Fl. We stayed at a Sleep Inn. Not fancy, but new and clean. There is a big flea market in Waldo every weekend and the motel fills up fast. We were lucky to get a room. The weather was great...in the mid 70's. This is what we were hoping for. We drove to Stacy's house in Keystone around 430. It has been 35 years since I was there and the cottage hasn't changed much. Stacy got rid of the red shag carpeting and has painted, etc. She has taken good care of the place. One disappointment is that the lake is disappearing. I had pictures of the lake from 35 years ago and you can really see the difference. We had a real nice vist with Stacy and Trace. Alexis was visitng her aunt so we didn't get to see her. We heard all about Stacy's trip to Egypt and looked at the pictures. We went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant in Starke and drank margaritas. It was great to see them and catch up. Stacy has turned out to be such a nice young woman and her and Trace are well matched. They are very happy. They want to add on to the cottage now that Trace has a new, better paying job. It's too bad that we aren't close because John could help them with it. He would like that. Maybe he could talk her father into coming down with him and help them get started when they are ready. After dinner, we went back to our motel and slept well. |
