| 16th Feb '11 Just figured out how to move messages to the guest book! Up at 5:00 a.m. Aussie time. Said good bye to our Aussie family. (hate goodbyes). Hopefully it won't be to long till we see them again. Mike drove us to the airport. He came into the airport and saw us through check-in and security. (Making sure we really leave I guess. lol) After we checked in we went to Air NZ business class lounge and relaxed until our flight was called. Sure treat you good in the lounge. Free food, free drinks & big couches and tv's etc. Not that we travel business class. Strictly economy all of the way. Mike supplied us with passes to the lounge as he travels business all of the time. Thanks Mike!! Long lines at immigration and security in Auckland. However we checked through ok. We caught the shuttle to the hotel. The traffic was something else again. However we arrived and checked in. An excellent room with a great view of the Auckland harbour. We did a short walk about after getting settled in. Picked up box of New zealand 'gold' beer. You are see-ing the pattern here, as I may have mentioned before. Yukon gold, Alaska 'gold', Fiji 'gold', Australian 'gold', and now NZ 'gold'. And each one has tasted quite good. Dinner at the hotel - Pizza with a beer, and Margret had a glass of NZ red wine. Early to bed. nite. |
