Name of the wonderful buffet restaurant.

A lovely lazy day today, as Sofie is not coming to collect me until 6pm. So, I did my cross stitch, watched TV, checked emails, etc. I had a tomato and onion omelette for lunch, this time knowing that it came with coffee included!

About 4pm I went shopping at the shopping mall I have found near the hotel. I needed coffee, and found some. Also found Snickers bars - yum! I looked around for ear rings for Dandan, but did not manage to find the ones she likes. I did manage to find a new hair brush for myself. The one I have is slowly falling to bits. But I have had it for about five years, and cost me around $2 when I bought it in Zhaoqing, all that time ago.

Wandering past a computer store, I went in to enquire about the price of flash drives, but did not get one. I did find a cute little mouse, which is green and white, and actually looks like a toy mouse. I paid 395Php for it, and was happy. It will be much better to carry with me, when I take my netbook away with me. The one I have is useless.

On the way back to the hotel, I thought I was going to get wet, but the rain held off until I was under cover. Thank you, weather man!!

I sat in the lobby and read a magazine, until Sofie arrived. We walked to the People's Park, which is not very far away. Was shown just how serious the local government is about not smoking, when my cigarettes were taken off me, on the way in the gate, to be retrieved on our way out!!

It is a nice park, with lots of people of all ages, wandering about, enjoying being out of doors on a balmy evening. It has been quite hot during the day, so people are taking advantage of the cooler evening.

From the park, we took a taxi to the Nanay Bebeng buffet restaurant that Sofie wanted to take me to for dinner. There was a good choice of local foods. I love the Filipino style of cooking, there are interesting flavours, and simple mixtures of taste. I certainly am enjoying the eating experience here in Davao.

We got a taxi back to the hotel, where I asked Sofie to send a text message to Dandan, asking her to check her emails. I have no sim card for my phone for use here in the Philippines. I wanted to be sure that she had checked, and read my email. I did not want her Dad to be waiting for me in Shenzhen, when I was not going to be there.

When Sofie left, I took my netbook down to the lobby, to check on emails, then back to my room, for a shower, clothes washing, and to bed. My alarm was set for 7.30 in the morning.
