Where did the time go? Glenna and I have wound down and vegged for the entire week. The weather has been perfect. Each day we go down and exercise. I mostly ride a bike and Glenna prefers one of those walker/cross country skier machines. You can tell I have no clue about exercise machines, but I have been keeping Glenna company. I ride a couple of miles, get my heart rate up to about 130, and watch some TV all at the same time. We spend our afternoons lounging at the pool.

Yesterday we had the trailer washed and detailed. It was the first time we have ever used a detailing service. It was a little pricey but they did a fantastic job. They even painted the stairs into the trailer, that were starting to look a little rusty.

I mentioned the other day that I was having a problem with one of the slide motors. I envisioned a plan of taking the trailer to a local Carriage dealer and have it fixed during the time we fly back to Canada. I thought it was a great plan, get the trailer fixed while we are away, and not have to store it while we are gone. Yesterday we drove down to Indio and met with the local dealer. All dealers are not created equal! The dealer here, who mentioned to me he had been in business for thirty years, doesn’t have a single service bay or any on staff repair technicians. He does have a mobile company that he gets in, on an “as needed” basis to do any warranty work he has. Obviously I need a new plan. This morning I crawled under the trailer and removed the defective motor. I called Carriage in Indiana and arranged for them to ship me a new motor. They said it should arrive at my campsite by early next week. Hopefully I can get it back together and be off to the races.

Glenna and I have met some nice neighbours. Each afternoon we host a little “happy hour” to meet and visit. Most of our neighbours are from the west coast. They travel south to Palm Springs like we normally travel south to Florida. Washington, Oregon, Colorado, Nevada, and California are the most common license plates we see. British Columbia is the most common provincial plate we see.

Now that we have settled in and relaxed, I think we are going to start doing some touring. There are lots of neat things here in this area, we just have to get out and start exploring.
