It is time to leave Chateau d'Oex after 11 wonderful days of food, wine friendship and, oh yeah, ballooning. We loaded all the luggage and crew into the van and with wonderful precision, the boys made it all fit! We drove to Geneva with the envelope and all the "bulky stuff" that needed to be loaded back into the crate and sent back to Denver. If Pierre was a betting man, he was on the side of the luggage. He truly did not believe that all that stuff would fit back in the box. He was amazed that Jon could get it all back in there so he named it the magic box!
After completing all the paper work needed, we were on our way to lunch. Jon and Pierre returned the van (what a great find, thanks to Pierre!) and we all headed to the Geneva train station. Marty and Terri were on their way back to Denver tomorrow and the rest were on their way via Train to Paris. We will miss Marty and Terri! With the storm on the east coast, we hope that the weather Gods are favorable and they do not get stranded in Neward (YUK).
After arriving in Paris around 8 pm, Pierre and Magali rushed us out to see the Eiffel Tower which "sparkles" for 5 minutes every hour. It is breathtaking to see! Jon has transformed into a Frenchman as you can see from the photos. It is cold but warmer than Denver tonight! What a wonderful time we are having!
