Our Worldwide Adventures 2010 travel blog

As you can imagine we were extremely tired on our last day in Phi Phi. I didn’t get home until 4.30am and Joss traipsed in at 6am. It is so easy to lose track of time here. We didn’t leave our room until 1pm, by the time we’d had brunch and got to long beach it was around 3pm. We squeezed in another 3 hours in the sun and I had many errands to run in the evening to prepare for our trip back down to Malaysia tomorrow. We said our goodbyes to P A K over dinner at the Thai market. We will see Pete and Alfie again in a few weeks so it wasn’t an upsetting farewell.

We had quite an early morning as we had to be at the port by 8.30am. The journey was painless as everything is that involves Malaysia. It’s such an easy country to cross in to. Lavana and Kia were on our trip so Joss had someone to chat too. I like to spend my time travelling with my eyes shut, mainly to prevent boredom and to blank out that fact that people in Asia like to drive like maniacs. After 11 hours of travelling we arrived at Banana guesthouse in Penang. Lavana, Kia and Joss went for dinner at the Red Garden Cafe and I grabbed some satay from a hawker outside and stayed around the guesthouse. We have an early flight to Indonesia in the morning and I feel like I’ve hardly slept the past few nights. I am extremely excited about getting to Indonesia tomorrow as I don’t know what to expect....
