From Ortona Lock COE Campground in LaBelle, FL …

We woke up to clouds this morning which soon turned to rain. We mostly stayed inside watching the rains move in and out all day. Neither of us seemed to mind though. We quickly passed the day cooking, reading, and on our laptops. I did squeeze a little house cleaning in there as well. I will say that living in the limited space of an RV for a couple months will definitely test a good marriage. But I'm happy to say that we seem to pass the test just fine. It's probably not for everyone though. :)
Around 3:00, we drove into LaBelle to mail a couple letters to the post office office. Yesterday we had planned to do our laundry today in LaBelle. However, last night I remembered that our favorite Laundromat is closed on Thursdays. So we are planning to get an early start in the morning and take care of that job tomorrow.
Yesterday we made reservations to stay a couple nights in Homestead, FL next week. We were planning to visit Everglades National Park one day and then drive Highway 1 to the Keys the next day. BUT … tonight the weather forecast has changed, and they are now calling for a 30% chance of rain both days. So we may end up canceling and doing that trip another day when the weather is nice and sunny.
Amazingly, we were treated to a spectacular sunset tonight despite all the rain today. I ran outside and took a few photos. A couple other people were out there enjoying the views and taking pictures. I met a very nice couple from south Florida who moved in today across the street from us. They also have a Cougar fifth wheel, and we had a very nice conversation. It seems that every day you meet nice people here.
