Kaufmans in Israel travel blog

After a great sleep and breakfast (fabulous blintzes, fruit, hummus, Mediterranean salad, cheese etc, etc) we picked up a car and headed for Acco. It took a little while to learn to program to GPS but after that we zipped up the coast. .. . stopped in Zichron Yaacov (means memorial of Jacob) to visit the Carmel winery where we had a taste of the wine and bought a couple bottles (Cab Franc, Cab Sauvignon/Merlot & Sparkling) for the trip. Those of you who know us well know we'd never pass up a winery tour and only regret that we couldn't visit the other two in the area. . . but there are more wineries in the Sea of Gallilee region. We walked a little bit around the winery area but were not in the main town. We would have liked to visit Ein Hod (Well of Beauty) an artisan village but we'd gotten a late start and had to get to Acco by sunset. Perhaps our next trip... if I can bear the thought of a ten hour flight
