Its boxing day in Nepal and Christmas evening at home. We walk down and then up to the internet cafe/ international telephone booth to call home. After breakfast we walk down the road to get some spectacular views of the Langtang range of the Himalayas. It’s a little hazy today, so we decide not to trek the 4 km hike to the view tower that will offer us a peak of Mt. Everest. The local shops carry some nice wool sweaters, toques, gloves and bags. At sunset we walked up to the temple on the hill to catch the last rays of sunlight on the Himalayas. Afterwards we head down to the internet cafe for Nepalese chai and to post some journals, pictures and make a few Skype calls. Dinner at the Eco home restaurant, a Nepalese bhat, which consists of rice, spinach, cauliflower and a tomato dish. Bowls of lentil dhal and curried chicken accompany the meal. It has been a relaxing day in Nagarkot, in preparation to tomorrow’s sightseeing and shopping day in Kathmandu.
