I happened to wake up at 3 AM and knew it was about the time of the highlight of the eclipse, so I got dressed warmly and went out to see what I could see. Lo and behold, my neighbors were also out, sitting in chairs on the road looking up! I joined them, and we went and got our binoculars to try to see it better. That worked! I actually saw a constellation below it called "Seven Sisters"! It looks like a miniature version of the big dipper with a lip half covering the ladle, so we named it the little big dipper, then the little dip, and finally the little dip with the big lip! Anyway, we had fun and laughs but didn't wake up any other neighbors! Regina and I walked around but no one else seemed to be up and out.
When we got back and the eclipse was starting to go out the other side of hte moon, we went inside. I decided to try to get a picture, so I set up my tripod and went back out. So, you have one picture of the full eclipse taken while sitting in my chair and one when the moon has a white cap on it! These aren't good pictures, but at least it proves I was out there in the middle of the night!
