|From Cagle Recreation Area In The Sam Houston National Forest – New Waverly, TX
Monday we made the drive from Jefferson to our new location in the Sam Houston National Forest just south of Huntsville and north of Conroe. We will be here throughout the holidays and enjoy visiting with family.
Today we made a short trip over to Bryan, TX to have our Christmas with my Mom and Stepdad. We enjoyed a wonderful visit with them, our son, his wife and our daughter with a very tasty lunch at Red Lobster. Then we returned home for our gift exchange followed by a choice of several wonderful deserts that only a Mom and MiMi would have on hand in her kitchen. Thanks Mom for the pie, cake and gifts we enjoyed the day and love you very much.
Tomorrow we will go into Spring to our son’s home for Christmas Eve dinner and our traditional exchange of gifts with our children. More visiting will be on the agenda through the first few days of the New Year before we will be returning to what we have come to call our “home base”; Hitchcock, TX.
Once back in Hitchcock, we will make and attend doctor, dentist, and other needed medical visits. Following good medical reports from these visits, we can begin planning our travels for 2010. With our scenario of plans at this time, posts to the journal will not be on a regular basis but only when we have news or updates to share with you our readers.
However, you can expect entries to the journal when we begin to follow the highways and byways in 2010. Until then, we hope each of you enjoy your Holiday Season and that the New Year brings with it all you have wished for. In closing, click on the link below and enjoy the e-card being sent your way.
PS Once the rain stops and Rudy can get some pictures of this park and its surroundings, I will attach them with this journal entry. If you check back, once you see the “camera” icon reopen the entry and enjoy the photos.
