Dear Family and Friends,

We are moored up in La Paz until tomorrow when we set off for 10 days of cruising through nearby islands in the Sea of Cortez. We just had a wonderful week-long visit from Katie, meeting her in Los Cabos and then sailing with her into the Sea of Cortez and up to La Paz, a three and a half day sail, with a beautiful day in between at one of our favorite anchorages so far. Since Katie had never been to Mexico, or spent more than an hour with us sailing, it was all new experience for her and she was wide-eyed and fascinated by everything (as were we) – the dolphins and flying fish, amazing snorkeling, barefoot runs on endless beaches, mango margaritas, stunning sunsets, the ever-friendly Mexicans (including quite a few cuties), taco stands, cactus, and lively discussions at the dinner table. She cooked some delicious meals for us and gamely slept on a very narrow lee-clothed ledge. It was a short but sweet visit.

We are looking forward to sister and brother-in-law visits over Christmas and in January and then Ellian’s visit in February. Suddenly we are very popular!
