Rick and Lisa Living our Dream travel blog

We drove through some pretty country today, and some very desolate parts of the state. We were right along the border of Mexico, and we imagined this very tough land is where many Mexicans tried to come into the US. There was always a Border Patrol vehicle near, and we went through a couple different check points.

Today was also our longest day of driving since we retired. We went about 425 miles. I drove for about an hour and half is all. We were a little anxious to get to SPI now that we made the decision to go early. Once we got off of I-10 at Fort Stockton, the trip was two lane state highway, not too bad of a road. There wasn't a lot of places to stay before getting to Del Rio, so we pushed on. We stayed at the Walmart in Del Rio, they had 24 hour security in the parking lot. He let us know we were OK there and he'd keep and eye on us. There was just one other coach in the lot.

We walked over to the Jack in the Box for a burger, and read for a while. We were both pretty tired.

Our generator isn't getting us any power, we had it looked at in Cedar City, UT, and thought all was OK, since the generator is putting out the power, but it isn't being converted someplace along the way. We will have this looked at while in SPI.
