After our goodbye's to Pat (already home in Salmon Arm, BC), Lesley who I'll see at work next week in Peachland, Lois will be back to Summerland, Doris and John are heading off to their home in Gibsons, BC and Marie and Larry will be hanging out in Bonita Springs until mid December before returning home to Kelowna.
We enjoyed an unforgetable dinner at our favourite restaurant, Iguana Mia in Bonita Springs, Florida as a "good bye...see ya later" with the gang. Another great evening of stories, laughter and memories....
We had a beautiful drive from Bonita Springs to Ft. Lauderdale and then onto Miami arriving at the Cruise Ship Terminal about noon. On route which follows a canal (fenced to stop the Alligators from wandering onto the highway), we stopped for a picnic lunch at one of the Highway Rest Areas. Another photo-op and continued with our drive.
We said our goodbyes to Marie and Larry and thanked them again for their super hospitality during our stay at their winter home in Bonita Springs.
Joanne and I boarded our cruise ship (the Majesty of the Seas) for our trip to the Bahamas. We went directly to the Schooner Bar for an umbrella drink to help unwind and get into our resting lazy mode. Our room was ready about 1:30 after which we went to the Windjammer Cafe for a much needed buffet lunch.
We browsed around the ship, took in the sights and sounds and proceeded to take many photos of the ships departure from Miami out into the night heading towards our stop at Cococay, Bahamas.
More tomorrow
til then,
Waine and Joanne
