Off to a great start, 8:30 a.m., cool and crisp, REM on the radio singing Man on the Moon.
Could we please stop talking about airport screening and "pat-downs" on local television?
270 miles to go today, longest segment of the trip home.
notes from the road:
1. When you don't have time to get your arteries clogged at Waffle House, a sugar spike at Dunkin Donuts is a good substitute, especially in the fall when they put pumpkin in stuff!
2. Next trip we need a map of mountain ranges so we can stop arguing about whether we're driving past the Alleghenies or the Appalachians, or the Great Smokey Mountains!
Hard to believe that this time tomorrow we'll be home!
