Leoppard Seal on an icefloat

this morning we woke up to .5 mile visibility, 40 knot winds, and snow - so no landings today. we sailed through the Lemaire Channel down to the southern most point of the trip - 65 degrees 04's, 63 degrees 57'w. one the way, there was a spotting of a minke whale, we did not see it. Also there was a leopard seal on an ice float, we were able to take some photos of it. since there were no landings, we turned around and heading north again and anchored at Port Lockroy. This is a British Antarctic base with a gift shop and post office. the 3 people that are stationed there, came aboard the ship for showers and a hot meal for the evening. spent the day looking out the window, reading and working with the photos.
