Cassowaries are BIG birds. Hit them and they wreck your car. Never...
Totally in the Rainforest. Lots of Crocs and big birds called Cassowarries who will wreck your car if they don't like you. They can weigh 80kg so fighting the giant Turkey isn't an option.
Went here to go rafting. It was here that I acquired my tent and met up with the people who I started my road trip with.
Else, very hot and completely humid. More insect varieties here that I've seen anywhee else.
Rafting was fun, but expensive. Amazing how the boats never burst or just tear apart, no matter how many rocks you hit. Only fell in a couple of times and even that was ok because the river water was both clear and pretty temperate. Our boat guy was called the Fisherman and was totally cool. He looked not unlike Iggy Pop, or 'The Iggosaurus' as he is known in some circles.
A fine day indeed.
