Arrived 29th October
Departed 3rd November
Arrived in Luang Probang at long last and checked into Viradesa with Sam and James. Had a walk through the night markets and LOVE it here already! The next few days were spent sight seeing. We climbed Phousi Hill, went to the museum which is housed in what was previously the palace, visited tat kuang si waterfall, shopped, ate, shopped, ate some more.... I Moved into Soutikone guesthouse after 2 nights where Erik was and Alex and Jordan joined us. Government inflict a curfew throughout Laos which means you have to be in your area of residence (as in guesthouse room!!) by midnight. This means all the bars close up at around 11.30pm to enable the staff to get home! Apparently the police are really strict with the locals and, if caught, are locked up for the night and hit with a hefty fine! Its a good thing in a way I suppose as it stops me going silly until all hours of the morning but can't help but dislike being told what to do! ha! You find yourself constatntly checking the time to see how much longer you have!!
Sreet food here is AMAZING!! All you can fit on your plate buffet for 10,000 kip, less than a pound! As for the night markets.... I just Love them! If I was going home after here I would redecorate my house from here! I have bought a few cheeky items! I just love it!
Alex and Jordan decided it was time to leave so they set off back to Bangkok while Erik and I embark on whistlestop tour of the north to east then south again!
