|The sound of thunder wakened me a bit after 3:00 AM.
I fell back to sleep within a few minutes but was awakened again by thunder again around 5:30. This time the thunder was accompanied by rain. Bummer!
We were soon up, sitting in the living room with the fireplace flickering and soft music on the sound system. Sipping coffee is a must and it is especially nice under those conditions on a cool, rainy morning.
We planned to make it to New Orleans today, as it is only five to six hours away. However the steady moderate to occasional heavy rain has convinced us to remain where we are for another day.
We have a reservation at Bayou Segnette State Park beginning today, and our friends, Rick & Sherry, are already there waiting for us.
However, there is no sense in getting out there in the rain and driving all that distance, when we can easily stay here in our comfortable little chalet on wheels. We are on a very flexible schedule with no urgency to do anything.
Marilyn has decided to do her laundry, since we are at a full-hookup campground. We need to change the sheets, and I might cook something really good.
The only downside is that we have no TV reception. We do have DVD movies that we have no seen before, so that is not an issue either.
We have a nice view of a park-like setting from our windows, along with plenty of food, wine and music. I am in the company of a wonderful person who loves me (Bless her heart) and we are warm and cozy.
In fact this may turn out to be a romantic, relaxing day.
What is not to love about this lifestyle.
