The pre-travel chores are done, we have said our goodbyes, and we are ready to hit the road tomorrow morning.
We shared some tears with Jennifer as we said so long this evening. She and the grandkids stayed until after 5:30 PM and it was hard to see them leave.
This afternoon, I took Jennifer into the cave to show her the Jesse James signature and then McDowell’s Chamber, where Doctor Joseph Nash McDowell placed the body of his 14 year old daughter, back in the 1850's.
We took time to see a few other places that are not on the tour route and I enjoyed sharing this experience with my daughter.
Later I said goodbye to the gang at the cave, sharing hugs with Shelbey, Gretchen and Cele.
Our plans are to travel to Sikeston, Missouri tomorrow and then on to Grenada, MS the next day.
We will be at Bayou Segnette State Park outside of New Orleans on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
On Monday we plan to move west to Abbeville, LA, where we will stay at Betty’s RV Park long enough to enjoy some Cajun food, Zydeco music, and a swamp tour.
We will arrive at Llano Grande RV Resort on the 14th, staying until April 1st.
Of course, like all of us RV’ers, our plans are set in Jello and subject to change at any time.
We have friends already in the south, in Texas and in Florida, or on their way to other points in the sun belt, to enjoy the nice warm weather through the winter months.
So, once again the adventure begins.
Life is Good!
