More low clouds on the way to Revelstoke

Must have been interesting slicing through the rock to build the highway

Revelstoke Museum, built in 1926 as a post office and customs office....

Grizzly Plaza is the focal point for Revelstoke. On the other side...

Was this theater named for a dog per chance?

Our schedule called for 4 days at Banff but when we found out we could get a refund, we left today for Revelstoke BC. Rain off and on all the way there and rain in Revelstoke. It’s a cute little town surrounded by mountains and we found a great brew pub for lunch. Today’s special was tacos and they were yummy.

There are lots of advertisements for heli-skiing in Revelstoke because of all the snow. In fact, Revelstoke holds the Canadian record for the snowiest single winter-24.47 meters of snow fell on the town during the winter of 1971-72. That works out to just over 80 feet of snow. Snow levels were higher than many roofs around town by more than a few meters. Our son, Andy heli-skis and, also in fact, he heli-skis here. What a small world.
