24th October. After leaving Port Lincoln we headed towards Whyalla but on the way called in at a Tumby Bay, a very nice seaside village, then we had lost Sue & Alan on the way so we called into another small seaside village Cowell, so while waiting for them we browsed through the local museum, which was very good it is full of things from the last century and earlier, they had some lovely old wedding gowns, beautiful china etc. All along the way from Port Lincoln to Whyalla we passed farming land with very good crops of wheat, oats and barley which is about a month off harvest. We are staying at Whyalla for two nights. As we drove towards Whyalla we passed the first 10,000 Klms. Of our trip.
25th October. The Whyalla Foreshore Caravan Park is very nice, very clean and right on the ocean. Last night the wind came up and I swear it was coming off the south pole, it really blew a gale but this morning it is a beautiful day, Whyalla is a similar to Port Lincoln but a lot tidier and it has some lovely old buildings. There isn’t a lot of things to see, we did go to the Flinders memorial and the lookout over looking the town. The main museum which we would have like to see was closed as a lot of the museums in towns are, usually due to the lack of volunteers. We have decided to have dinner at the Discovery Hotel with Sue and Alan.
