Near Pointe-Saint-Pierre to the south of the village of Saint-Georges-de-Malbaie there is a rock which resembles the profile of an Indian. The legend is “White men came from Europe on a great ship, kidnapped a young Indian girl and took her back to their country far away. Ever since, her lover tirelessly awaits the return of his beloved, with his back to the sea and sorrow in his eyes, his gazed fixed on the cliffs”
The campground we stopped at was just by Indian Head with the steepest incline to the pitch but the flattest pitch we have stayed on!.
We also visited Perce which was formerly a remote fishing village. The town gets its name from a heavily eroded rock, which is pierced by a large hole at one end. The whole coast round Perce is a magnificent natural spectacle with rocky outcrops and towering cliffs, often bare or sparsely covered with turf.
