It was overcast and rainy today but that did not deter the intrepid explorers. We drove to Franklin and followed hwy 64 over to Highlands. Hwy 64 is a twisty turny narrow waterfall road and we stopped where possible to take pictures and do some exploring. There was one falls that pedestrians could walk under and another where a car could drive under. The group, sans Doug, explored around the walking under one. Doug sat in the truck and waited and when the group came back they were cold and wet, but they had fun.
We then drove through downtown Highlands and circled around until we returned to Dillard. It was a beautiful drive with the leaves showing off for us and since it was a Monday, there was little or no traffic.
We went to the famous Dillard House for dinner. It is a country style restaurant with food served family style and is known all over the southeast. The patron sits at the table and the servers start bringing food and keep on bringing it until the patron yells uncle. Then they serve dessert. Its quite a place and well worth at least one visit.
JoAnn took many many pictures again today and with the backlog she has from yesterday has too many to process and post today. This will most likely become a project over the next few days.
We have enjoyed our time with David and Suzy and were glad to be able to be with them.
