Leaving the dogs in the motorhome we headed on the bus transit in to the center of Ottawa for the Canada Day Celebrations. It was a very colourful and enjoyable day. The celebrations started with the changing of the guards on Parliament Hill. The Royal Mounted Police performed a thrilling ride. Their was a lot of military band particularly the Canadian Army Bagpipes and Band which made us feel quite a home. We then watched the Governor General – Andrienne Clarkson taking the Royal Salute.

After the formal celebrations we wandered through the various parks in the center where their was all sorts of displays and entertainment.

A very enjoyable day.
