|We made two stops on our way from Orlando to our winter home at Anchors Aweigh RV Resort in Foley, Alabama. We spent three days in Tallahassee, not much to do there but we did go into downtown so that I could get a picture of the Florida State Capitol building, for my small collection of State Capitol pictures. Tallahassee is not as large as many of the state capitals and the traffic wasn’t near as crazy. We stayed at the Tallahassee RV Park, a very nice park conveniently located right off of I-10. Our last stop on the way to Foley was Cedar Pines RV Park in Milton, FL. We did not pick this campground the way we usually do, it isn’t all that convenient to an Interstate, about 8 miles from I-10. We made some friends at Grandpa’s Farm in Indiana this summer, Jim and Brenda and Cedar Pines is where they will be spending the winter so we just had to stop and visit with them when we went through that area. We spent two days there and had a real nice visit. On Wednesday night Jim made pizzas on his grill and Brenda and I enjoyed a couple of Margaritas. On Thursday afternoon the campground owners supplied fish for Jim to cook on the grill for a few of their friends and everyone brought a dish to pass. It turned out to be quite a party and Jim made a batch of his famous Sangria, it was very good. The downside of our visit was that Bob was coming down with a cold and wasn’t feeling that well while we were there. On Friday morning after we all went to breakfast at a local café we hit the road for the short trip to Foley, only about 60 miles from Milton. We were very happy to get back to Foley and settle in for a few months. We did learn, that due to family and health reasons, several of the friends that we have made the last two winters aren’t coming back this year. Of course we will miss them but look forward to making new friends and catching up with the old ones. I caught Bob’s cold and the two of us have spent our first week here feeling like crap but the warm weather and the sunshine are doing us some good.
