Mini golf day - a perfect setting!

Cave Point County Park

Today, tomorrow and Sunday are Fall Fest Days in Sister Bay. During Fall Fest almost every room from Sturgeon Bay north is booked and every property has a 3 night minimum. There are long waits to dine, bars are filled to overflowing and there is bumper to bumper traffic on Highway 42. These people are serious about their festivals. Naturally we had to check things out. Parking is catch as catch can. Since we had gotten there early, we were pretty lucky and had to walk only 4 or 5 blocks to get to the festivities. We were impressed with the large number and quality of the arts and crafts. We were also intrigued by the food offered. Of course there were plenty of brats but we also sampled the corn on the cob. Rather than the sweet corn to which we are accustomed, they serve roasted field corn. It is an interesting taste. We also encountered pumpkin pie in a cup and spaghetti and meatballs on a stick. It is very practical for such affairs and really tasted like spaghetti and meatballs. When we finished there, we scooted back to Fish Creek. The White Gull Inn there is known for it's Cherry-Stuffed French Toast. This dish was a finalist in the "Good Morning America Best Breakfast Challenge." Absolutely delicious! The French Toast is stuffed with a cherry/cream cheese mixture and served with additional cherries. And these are Door County cherries with their distinctive, delicious flavor. We finished the day with a quick round of miniature golf and a trip to Cave Point County Park. It is known for its underwater caves and wave-worn limestone cliffs and is a very pretty setting.
