Look Rock

Look Rock

We drove into Maryville and Knoxville to pick up a few more supplies then looped back to the campground through the Foothills Parkway. It has been several years since we drove that road and we enjoyed the scenery and fall colors along the way. Some bright red tree looks like it is at it’s peak and the yellow trees are starting to look beautiful. We stopped by our old picnic spot - Look Rock but didn’t stay too long because it was starting to thunder. Look Rock is an exposed rock face overlooking a beautiful valley and one look at the blackened, fallen trees told us this was a bad place to be when it is lightning. Last night we talked with our neighbors around their fire for a while and they invited us over for a hot dog cookout tonight. It started raining at the campground as we were getting ready to eat so we moved the picnic table under their awning for dinner. However, the night was cut short when the rain got harder and the temperature starting dropping quickly.
