Sunday, October 3rd – Nashville, Tennessee The Wounded Warriors are survivors!!!!

I posted about 30 pictures on the Mammoth Caves page!

Came out of the rig this morning & …yup. The damage was still there. Was hoping it was a bad dream!!  So, onward we drove, Allan in the rig & me following in the car about 100 miles to Nashville. We’re gonna see Nashville no matter what! Checked into the RV Park & bought tickets for the Grand Ole Opry & a few other shows.

Allan made calls re: a rental on a tow dolly. No final decision as yet though it appears to be more costly (naturally) than expected. We can buy a tow dolly for a little more than it will cost to rent. Do we want that extra aggravation of having to sell it when we get home? Decisions? Stress? Ya’ think!

In addition, Allan thinks there is something wrong with the RV brakes. Since the tow dolly does not have its’ own brakes this is critical. But after making many calls to authorized Workhorse Service locations he has learned that there is a recall on brake parts so there is not much available. All are on backorder. Do you think this brought on more stress? Duh!

Have been receiving numerous texts & phone calls from almost 6 yr old Maxie who has a new cell phone of his own! His spelling vocabulary is rather limited however, so texting dialog is rather short. This was the reason I learned to text earlier this year so I would know before the grandkids. But I really thought I had a few more years to work on it!

We attended a nice dinner/show nearby. It was a good diversion! Posted photos which is very time consuming…

Monday, October 4th – Nashville, Tennessee

Took an early tour of the city with a local company & guide. Really nice! Went thru the downtown area as well as adjoining suburbs with large homes & estates.

At 1:00 we disconnected everything & took the rig to a Chevy Dealership that is an authorized Workhouse Service agent. They said they would look at the brakes to at least evaluate any potential problems. We sat in the rig till 3:30 when they finally took it in. They determined that the brake pads were fine. Whew! It was the front wheel lubrication cups that had leaked & were very low on fluid. They were able to replace them. Also, the tires were wearing unevenly so they rotated them. They replaced the brake calipers that are part of the recall.

At 6:10 & $600. we flew out of there to head for a theater to see an Elvis review at 7:00 that we had prepaid. We parked the rig at the theater with Bailey & dinner was a few protein bars & popcorn in the theater. (Are we having fun yet!)

At 9:30 we drove back to the RV Park & set up again. Tomorrow we will be disconnecting again & to go pick up the tow dolly. Decision was to minimize stress & just rent one! We will deal with all insurance companies when we get home. The object here is to just GET home!

No TV tonight! Maybe a little reading & I am sure I will fall right to sleep!
