our pad for a few days..nice and clean, thats the way we...
our family while we stay in lauris... cheers!
our 2.5 hr lunch up in the hills, super remote..! super uber...
| Europe vacation... We meet up with the Griswolds! ( terri s family, aunt pody and hubby John, uncle bill and Sonya, and their friends Yvonne and Mick ) Took a bus from Aix en Provence to Lauris... a beautiful little town situated in the heart of Luberon national park which is a region in Provence.. Perched villages in the mountain side everywhere around us! Who in hell builds a town in/on a rock? They did! In a time of requiring to be nice and high so that they could see enemies coming. The view is stunning, valleys of vineyards in the distance, small towns perched on the mountain side, and blue skies. We were greeted by John and Pody who were kind enough to pick us up at the roadside bus stop...tank god, cause the roads are all uphill both ways! Back at their luxurious villa we caught up with Bill, Sonya, And their friends Mick and Yvonne... Supper was on, bill was on a roll! We lounged it up most of these days, biggest trips consisted of finding a place for lunch, which was portion sized like supper! It s no wonder Europeans nap after lunch, who wouldn t ? We did venture up into the mountains to do some village hopping...ups and downs, round and round, terri was green but manage to keep her cookies down! I can t imagine driving these roads in e winter! We visited Gordes, a perched village where everything was made out of layered stone... Neat! The second little village we stopped over in was Roussillon, where we visited the Ochra (les ochres) conservatory. Ochra being a natural mineral wherby the pigments are extracted to make color for items such as paint...the sand is bright red and curry yellows! Check out the pics! |
