WaterFire - This is amazing!

Houses on street downtown

Historic Providence

Community Sail Center Keelboats

I have arrived in Providence after about a 2 hour drive up highway I-95. It was a 103 miles. The weather here is beautiful in the upper 70's. It should get to be 82 degrees as a high today.

This is the capital of Rhode Island, founded in 1901. Can you believe it has more than 20% of the country's national landmarks! I visited the campuses of two major schools: Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design (RISD).

Providence is on the Providence River. It has an inlet of water where there is this amazing water sculpture called WaterFire. It is 100 wood fires on posts on the water. People come for here for the arts and festivals and just to see the WaterFire urban space.

I took a basic sailboat lesson at the Communit Sail center on a Hunter 216 Keelboat. here's the link: http://www.communityboating.com/lessons/intro.html?jkId=8a8ae4cc26414990012641979f480a03&jt=1&jadid=816952166&js=1&jk=sailing&jsid=17325&jmt=1&&gclid=CP201N7_tqQCFbJa7AodfEVx5g
