Before leaving Pooler, I stopped at the Mighty 8th Air Force Museum. I'm glad I did. I thought I'd spend an hour or 2 then hit the road, but I wound up staying about 4 hours. It's easy an all day stop. They have some of the best WWII memorabilia that I've ever seen. Well organized and meticulously cared for. The most touching part was the memory garden. There were hundreds of plaques commemorating the air crews and theur planes placed there by crew members and their families as well as name plaques for those who served in the 8th on the walls around the garden. You can't walk through the garden without a tear coming to your eye.
After a relatively short ride Winnie and I arrived at the Flamingo RV Resort just outside of Jacksonville. It a great place. I'm going to the Cafe to watch karaoke tomorrow.
