I did write all about Flores and for some reason none of the pictures or text uploaded. So here I am starting again and I have so much to say, about other things.
we drove from Antigua to Flores about 8/10 hours. We passed one accident, which we are sure has casualties and small car hit a semi filled with cinder blocks.
Carlos are tour guide speaks English very well and knows the area and route. It is his business, the van we are in is brand new! Very comfortable and just the three of us.
We stop at a little restaurant that served the most awesome ceviche. I ate every last drop. It was only a few dollars for a large bowl full of shrimp and fish ceviche and a lemonade.
We arrived late to Flores, we had a quick snack then off to bed. I forgot to bring in water to brush my teeth. In the morning I woke at about 5:30am which seems to be my custom in Latin America. I peeked out the window, took a couple of photos. It was a very gray morning!
Shower time, which I was looking forward to since we have been having cold showers at our home stay. I got undressed ready to hop in and no water! Arrg!
We packed up and walked down the street to a little restaurant, where another couple and us, watched the tropical storm report on the television, while it poured outside.
Flores is a beautiful city, full of backpackers and travelers from all over the world. Many European languages can be heard in the streets.
From Flores we are off to Tikal! About 45 minutes away!
