Today we drove back to PEI National Park – this time without Darby as she is not allowed on the boardwalk. We saw the beaches, the red cliffs and the sand dunes. Again it rained all night – really hard and most of the morning.

Then we drove over to a couple of the “tourist” stores where everything is 30 – 50% off. It’s the end of the season and most of the stores are getting ready to close until next summer.

Next we drove to the Green Gables house. This is the house where Lucy spent much time as a child and that she used as a basis for the house in her book. It’s been restored to how it looked in the late 1880’s and furnished to look like the house in the book. The wallpaper and furnishings were chosen in some cases after studying photos that Lucy had taken – and apparently she had taken quite a few.

They’re predicting rain for most of tomorrow. 
