Got up early and hit the road, this time going slightly north around Salt Lake city, then south on highway 215/15. While the freeway provided a bit more stressful driving, it was Sunday morning, so was not too bad. The speed limit is definitely higher than the backroads I used to get to Tooele, in fact, there were two "speed test sections" where the speed limit was 80mph. I tried to stay below that....
Lots more high desert on this road (yep, same as the back roads), but plenty of radio reception, so the morning went quickly. Except for the fact that it was Sunday in Utah and no businesses except gas stations were open, it was an easy drive. I got to where I had anticipated staying overnight WAY early, so continued on to a place near the intersection of the road to Zion, which I'll take tomorrow.
Since it was still only 1PM, I had lunch at the RV park, confirmed they had great wi-fi, then drove on over to Bryce Canyon through Red Rock Canyon. VERY pretty drive through the canyon, then enjoyed stopping at most of the scenic overlooks provided in Bryce. It looks like Bryce is a vacation destination since there was a town called Bryce Canyon at the turn off to the park. Here there were gas stations, restaurants, hotels, an RV park and souvenir shops. Very different from all of the other parks I've seen so far!
Back to the RV park by 5PM for dinner....a good day!
