Up and out of the RV park by 9AM after emptying waste tanks. By noon, I arrived in Tooele, UT, at Miller Motorsports park. Got a dry campsite next to the track for WAY too much money, but it saved a 1.5 hour round trip drive (2 days) to downtown Salt Lake City's KOA.
I watched practice and learned about all the different car races happening this weekend. While it was breezy, at least this year the temperatures were in the high 70's....nice!
More practices started at 8AM on Saturday, so I moved over to the main track entrance to sit in bleachers there and browse through the race car garage area. Saw lots of drivers in person that I've only seen on Speed channel up 'till now. :-)
Watched practice and qualifying for the Rolex cars and Continental Tire series. Lots of noise and excitement, especially when cars make contact or run off the course, and RSR did a great job of taking 2nd place in one of their 3 cars. Of the past 4 races, the 198 car has taken 2 first places and 1 second place...3 podiums! The team is ecstatic!
