We are now in Vermont. Our first stop was the small town of Randolph. While jeep touring around the area we passed through numerous small country villages with old farm houses . Again, there were lots of covered bridges to seek out. The topography is hilly, densely forested and every color of green you can imagine.
While traveling to our next destination we stopped at Saint-Gaudes NHS. Saint-Gaudes became the first sculptor to design an American coin- one cent piece, 10 & 20 dollar gold pieces. In fact, the standing liberty is still being used for US gold bullion coins. The grounds included many of his sculptures, studio, gardens and home. Sorry, no pictures, my camera bit the dust.
Presently we are in East Dorset, Vermont , near the Green Mountains. I purchased a new camera in Manchester which is five miles away- hope the pictures turn out good. The area is very scenic with rolling hills and beautiful foliage. Some of the trees are beginning to change to fall colors- I can only imagine how colorful this area is mid October. Emerald lake SP was close by. It offered primitive camping, paddle boating, and swimming. We were originally going to stay there but decided we wanted the comforts of home since the weather has dropped to mid sixties.
