The Port Townsend Lighthouse

Yesterday was a rest day after a very busy time in the Pacific Northwest. Tim played golf at a very nice course and shot an 87. He played with a local who is from California but spends the summer in Sequim. Susan watched tennis. Today our plan is to go to Whidbey Island via the Port Townsend ferry. Andrea spent many early years on Whidbey Island while her father was in the US Navy. We enjoyed our visit to Coupeville where Andrea was raised for a few years. We had lunch at Coupeville along the waterfront. We then drove to Deception Pass at the North end of the island. The water, trees, and rocks were really beautiful. We then drove back to Oak Harbor to find a cache at a monument to Navy pilots and crews who lost their lives while serving in submarine detection aircraft. It was a very nice memorial near the sea plane base. Finally we drove back to the ferry landing to take the return ferry to Port Townsend and then to Sequim.
