Vermont's Capitol, Montpelier, Vermont

8/30 – 8/31

The last stop for this month was a Wal-Mart parking lot in 123 miles (SR16, SR171, SR25, US3, I-93, SR25, I-91, SR25, US302, SR62) near Montpelier, Vermont. On this stop we:

>visited with Mike and Lisa who live in Warren, Vermont. Mike went to college with us and played folk music with Ken for many years. He was a professional musician most of his life and just retired from the Woods Tea Company singing group. It was great seeing Mike and Lisa.

>took a factory tour of Rock of Ages in Graniteville. This was a great tour which included the artisans viewing area and a bus ride to their granite quarry. The company produces cemetery memorials and mausoleums, huge rollers for paper mills and industrial tables.

>toured the Vermont State House. Good tour and a nice looking building.

>drove to Cabot, Vermont for a factory tour of the Cabot Creamery. It was an excellent tour and we finally learned the difference between cheddar cheese and jack cheese. More water is added during the cheddaring process for jack cheese.

In August we put 1915 miles on the house and 832 miles on the Jeep.
