Al at the Pompeii ruins

| Quick BLOG from Capri - Capri is a gorgeous island on a very steep mountain side, we are staying at Anacapri which is right at the top of the mountain the bus ride up here via a zigzag road is pretty hairy in places - the bus feels like it is going to go over the edge of the cliff!!!!! Went on a boat cruise around the island & manged to go into the Blue Grotto which is a cave that you enter via a very small opening (have to lie down in the boat) that opens into a large cavern area under the cliff & land above.... quite incredilble & the water was so so blue - just like a blue liquer!. Yesterday we stayed just out of Sorrento at a monastry which was on the edge of the cliff overlooking the coast - yet again another amazing place & such a fantastic view - great place to sip on limoncello (bought a few bottles of this!!) not so sure if that was in the rules (can you believve it the place had rules). Sorrento is a lovely town with lots of shops, restaurants, poms & even english pubs! Prior to Sorrento we visited Pompeii for a quick look at the ruins which is fascinating!! Tomorrow we are off to Amalfi for a night - it is certainly a very picturesque area - very layed back - we are really loving this existence after the bustle of cities! Ciao |
