We departed Prince George this morning about 0830 heading to a campground in Clinton, British Columbia, a distance of about 230 miles. In that 230 miles we ran into nine different construction jobs on Highway 97. All of these jobs are well along and we only had to stop and wait at two of the jobs. In the far north there are only two seasons. One is winter and the other in construction because no construction takes place during the winter. The drive was pleasant and dry for the most of the way. We did run into some rain about 20 miles north of Clinton and of course by that time our windshields were covered with bugs and the rain was enough to require the use of the windshield wipers but not enough to avoid making a mess. Once I got the rig setup at the campground I cleaned the windshield. Fall seems to have arrived early as the temperature was 45 degrees this morning in Prince George and it is predicted to be the that low again tomorrow here in Clinton. However, the sun is shining as I write thi,s and while the air temperature is now dropping, the sun is a great sight given the amount of rainy days we have experienced during this trip. We just finished dinner and so I am finishing this update. Tomorrow we head for Kalowna where we will spend a week and the Cox's will spend two days and then leave for Washington and a visit with other friends of theirs. Marge has a nursing classmate that lives in Kalowna and she is expecting us. I expect will be visiting with them frequently as well as taking day trips to see the sights in the Okanagan Valley. The campground here in Clinton is adequate, with 30 amp electrical, water, sewer, and WIFI. The camp sits are gravel and the grounds are maintained adequately. The campground we are headed for tomorrow is brand new and the photos on their web site show a spectacular campground surrounded by a vineyard. The Okanagan Valley grows a lot of grapes and has numerous wineries. It is much like the Napa Valley wine area where there are numerous micro climates that allow numerous varieties of grapes as well as a variety of fruits and vegetables to be grown. We are looking forward to exploring the area since we have never visited the area previously. That is all for now, Ross & Marge
